Richlands Medical Centre now offers 100% Bulk Billing GP consults for ALL Patients with a valid Medicare card.

​

For an appointment, please reach out to our friendly staff. We provide both in-person and telephone consultations (please check with reception to see if you meet Medicare requirements for a telephone consult when booking).​

All standard appointments are 10 minutes in length, with a maximum of 15 minutes, including consultation, examination, documentation, and clinical notes.  What this means for your appointment, 

• Each appointment is intended to address one main health issue

• In some cases, one brief additional issue may be addressed only if sufficient time remains

• Lists of multiple issues cannot be managed in a single appointment

• Only one patient may be seen per appointment — family members or accompanying persons with their own health concerns must book a separate appointment

• If the allotted time is exceeded, you will be asked to book a further appointment

This structure allows:

  • Safe and thorough clinical care

  • Fair access for all patients

  • Appointments to run on time

Patients WITHOUT a valid Medicare Card

Patients without a valid Medicare card will need to pay the full fee and are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.

We understand that sometimes a patient is unable to make a scheduled appointment due to unforeseen circumstances however we do request that you allow at least two hours for changes or cancellations.  If you miss an appointment without suitable reason/notice (at least 2 hours) a cancellation fee or the doctor discontinuing care may apply.

 

Consideration will be given depending on the circumstances.

 

Cancellation fees:

Standard appointment:                                       $85

Long appointment:                                              $140

HCC/ child standard appointment:                    $50

HCC/ child long appointment:                           $90

*These fees are not rebatable through Medicare

Discontinuation of Care Policy

The physicians at this practice reserve the right to discontinue care at their discretion. Any behavior that compromises the safety or well-being of patients, staff, or visitors may result in termination of care and prohibition from the premises.

Additionally, failure to attend more than two pre-booked appointments without a satisfactory explanation may also lead to discontinuation of services by your General Practitioner.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your care or experience, please don't hesitate to speak with one of our reception staff or doctors—either in person or in writing. All complaints are taken seriously and will be reviewed thoroughly. We aim to respond promptly and fairly.

After Hours Service

If you require medical care outside of our regular opening hours, please call our practice on (07) 3879 6230. Your call will be automatically redirected to our after-hours service.
