CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS

Childhood immunisations are given as per The National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule. All vaccines listed in the NIP Schedule are free for Medicare card holders.

BIRTH

Hepatitis B

2 MONTH

- A combined injection for diphtheriatetanuswhooping cough (pertussis)hepatitis BpolioHib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)

- An injection for pneumococcal

- Oral drops for rotavirus

4 MONTHS

- A combined injection for diphtheriatetanus,  whooping cough (pertussis)hepatitis BpolioHib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)

- An injection for pneumococcal

- Oral drops for rotavirus

6 MONTHS

12 MONTHS

- A combined injection for measlesmumpsrubella

- An injection for meningococcal ACWY

- An injection for pneumococcal

18 MONTHS

- An injection for Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)

- A combined injection for measlesmumpsrubellachickenpox (varicella)

- A combined injection for diphtheriatetanuswhooping cough (pertussis)

4 YEARS

- A combined injection for diphtheriatetanuswhooping cough (pertussis)polio

ADDITIONAL VACCINES MAY BE REQUIRED FOR ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER CHILDREN (QLD, NT, WA AND SA) AND
MEDICALLY AT-RISK CHILDREN.
